Norfolk narrowly miss 2nd Anglian U16 tournament

Five counties entered the Anglia Under 16s team tournament held in Norwich. The Essex first team ran out comfortable winners, leaving Norfolk and Bedfordshire to battle for second place which went to Beds who narrowly beat the host county 4-3. Earlier, Norfolk had whitewashed Cambridgeshire and Suffolk 7-0 and beat the Essex second string 4-3.

Representing Norfolk were Andrew Carrier, Mark Robinson, Luke Cox, Holly Bowen, Serena Verney and Sophie Piper. Robinson and Bowen were undefeated in mixed doubles throughout the tournament.

*The county under 17s gained an excellent Shires League victory over Suffolk, beating them 17-3 and winning all doubles games, including the four mixed, which they rarely achieve.The team was Craig Thomas, Andrew Carrier, Luke Cox, Mark Robinson, Andrew Stubbing, Charlotte Crosby, Serena Verney, Bryony Lund and Holly Bowen.
