Devon receives England call up

Devon Minnis from Belton, Great Yarmouth has been selected to represent England in the Under 15's Eight Nations Badminton Tournament to be held in Berlin, Germany on 14th - 19th February 2012, the eight leading badminton nations come together every year to compete in a team event and singles event.  Englands first 3 matches will be against Belgium, Sweden and Switzerland.  Devon, who has medaled in every one of the Badminton England U15 Gold Tournaments thoughtout the year, heard last week that she has been selected again, her first trip to Denmark to compete in the Danish Cup in October was a great experience where she got to the quarter-finals in mixed doubles in the individual event and enjoyed the team event where exciting close wins came against Germany and The Netherlands.

Devon trains at the Badminton Performance Centre in Ipswich and in Norwich most nights of the week, as well as attending England training camps throughout the year, so all her dedication and hard work is paying off and she will hopefully continue to represent her country in many more tournaments.  The next exciting trip, after Germany, comes in April where she is looking forward to compete in the Victor Olve Junior International Tournament in Belgium.
